WHO WE ARE
The Real FireWives of America represents a diverse community of people who have one common denominator — their lives revolve around their spouses’ firefighting careers. While they are responding to disasters in the community, their unpredictable schedules and the multitude of physical, mental, and emotional challenges associated with their jobs can spark a different kind of disaster within their homes.
Too many are consumed by the fires happening within their own
FireWives and FireFamilies often experience each call, each response, each disaster second-hand. Over time, this can take a toll on spouses and children of firefighters. Missed recitals/games, unresolved arguments, unreliable sleep schedules, and loss of control are only some of the challenges FireWives and FireFamilies face on a daily basis.
3 out of 4 fire marriages end in divorce.
Without the right support systems and coping mechanisms, this statistic will remain true. This is why the Real FireWives of America is here.
WHAT WE DO
The goal of the Real FireWivesTM of America is to create awareness of the challenges FireFamilies face and the resources needed to preserve marriages and enrich families through the tough times and beyond. By creating a sense of unity and understanding among FireFamilies, we are able to make an impact through Education, Support, and Inspiration.
